Painted aims to explore the possibilities of a creative cooperation between Dutch fashion designers and cross-border artisans who still master traditional handwork skills.
Evolve
Painted Series One focuses on exploring contemporary application of craftsmanship and the value of nearly extinct or forgotten techniques that have become so precious in a continuously globalizing world.
Comprehend
The making process unites different handwritings in one garment. Designers and handwork masters work in sequence on each garment. Starting point for this series are antique Bulgarian family pieces to which different generations have added new elements. These garments represent growth and are precious beyond time.
Personalize
Pieces from the research phase will be presented. The first series consists of pieces uniques that, because of different signatures are never identical to one another; a story in garments. The first series of garments is the beginning of a larger series. Customers interested in buying one of these pieces are invited to become part of the design process. During the presentation we would like customers to respond to the first Painted Series. In the near future it will be possible to order pieces of the collection. The design team of Painted invites the customer to get personally involved in the process.
